History:

Hi, we are the Markoff Brothers, directors of Calleva Outdoors and founders of the haunted Forest. In 1993 we decided to start a summer camp (Calleva) and realized that starting a business not only took enthusiasm but some capital as well. We needed a plan and the idea of a haunted forest was hatched. We launched Markoff's Haunted forest in 1993. It was hard work and a lot of fun. Our goal was to make it awesome. On opening night only 40 victims showed up- but the trail was great and word quickly got out. We always believed that if it's good, people will come. By the end of the season we were on a roll. We began Calleva outdoors in June of 1994. Markoff's haunted Forest has evolved thorughout the years into a great tradition. A lot of the same family, firends, and staff are still involved. We still have passion for what we do and love the challenge of coming up with new scenes. We recognize the tremendous efforts and hard work of the MHF staff who helped make MHF the best and.... we appreciate all who venture off the beaten path to attend our forest...thanks!
