About:
Well mortals, we warned you changes were on the way, and now we have something new to say. We'd like to re-introduce ourselves. Dragon's Gate Productions is our name and haunting is STILL our #1 game. We are a not-for-profit organization that plans to fund-raise as a production company. Since we last met, we've been as busy as gravediggers in a crowded cemetery. Thank you to our friends, family, and past event attendees for all their support. Due to their encouragement and enthusiasm we are forging ahead with a new haunted attraction! Dragon's Gate Productions will send chills up your spine with one of "THE" best haunted houses on Long Island, according to past event attendees.
History:
Circa 1999, a group of friends reflected how Breast Cancer impacted their lives, directly or indirectly. They sought a way to fight against this disease. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. The inspiration was to create a haunted house and accept donations to benefit two local Breast Cancer Coalitions. From its humble beginning as a tent in a driveway, the operation expanded over three years to encompass more than 2,000 square feet of inter-active entertainment space, garnered extensive media coverage, hosted over 10,000 visitors and most importantly raised in excess of $58,000 for the designated coalitions. Due to the unprecedented growth of the operation and the ever-growing number of volunteers, it is no longer feasible to undertake this activity in a residential setting. This factor, coupled with the desire to provide greater support to a broad spectrum of “grass-roots” organizations, necessitated that the organization evolve into a non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable foundation. Thus, Dragon’s Gate Productions was formed to guide the growth of the operation and perpetuate its contribution to the Long Island Community.
