History:

Located in the small town of Spencer Mountain , one of North Carolina's oldest towns ,stands an old, for more than 30 years, abandoned mansion... It was Built in the mid to late 1700's on top of what was once known as the Spencer Mountain Memorial Cemetery. Over the past several years there have been many unexplained sightings and happenings by both the local towns people and all types of visitors from afar. This mansion has been explored by many paranormal experts and psychics over the past years and their findings are remarkable... In 2004 a cable network channel aired a special which was filmed on location at the haunted mansion in Spencer Mountain, NC... The special featured the Mayor for the Town of Spencer Mountain as commentator, along with a host of psychics, paranormal experts, engineers, workers, and local town residents. The special took a close look at the history of the town, and to what place this old mansion played in history... There were recorders, and cameras set up throughout the old place and the findings were stunning... You may ask yourself why? Or you may just not believe the story's at all... But no-matter, the story's are true... Not fiction, and for all non-believers, well, " You'll never know unless you experience the truth personally ! " As previously stated, "During the past seasons there were many psychics and professional paranormal experts to study the Mansion and what they experienced was so intense, so dramatic, well, lets just say, located at the entrance of the mansion will be some of the evidence and photos of some of the remarkable paranormal findings, found and taken, during these very extensive studies... A fire fighter while working his post upstairs on Friday, October 11th, 2002 went into a frantic state. Almost to the point of shock when he came running down the many stairs to the outside area of the mansion and stated to the fire captain what he had just experienced. Here is what he had to say : " I was getting ready for the next group to come through as I could here them in a distance . I had just gotten everything adjusted, then turned around, and there she stood. I found myself staring straight into the eyes of a lady, dressed in white, and she had no expression . It was as though she was as surprised as I was... She seemed to be attired in lace, as though she were from the 1700 or 1800's. You know, that era. I at this point tried to yell out for someone in the next room but it was as though nothing would come out. Then suddenly I just threw all of my attire down and ran. I for one know what I experienced and now know there is another world that we can't see or hear . Well that is, unless they want us too." This firefighter had that evening in October 2002 completed his services at the Mansion as he would never go back inside again. Another example of a bizarre occurrence that actually took place during the 2004 season was... As the people working their post in the basement of the mansion on Friday October 29th, during regular operating hours, seen what appeared to be an image of something or someone suspended in mid air, floating by them and then as suddenly as they had seen the image, it just disappeared into the brick wall across the room... Was this image real? Do ghosts really allow us to see them? We believe the answer is yes, and for those that have been there to experience these actual events, There is no one that could ever discourage their experiences in which have taken place at this old mansion otherwise! Other occurrences experienced by both workers and visitors include: Lights randomly turn on and off for no reason , batteries in equipment lasts for only minutes, voices talking when no one else is there, music playing when there is no power turned on, tools being moved from one place to another, someone walking around upstairs when no one else is there, children laughing, cold spots throughout the mansion {mostly upstairs and in the basement} and much more... These things along with many others are what make this old place truly a sight worth visiting... You will be scared...............Very scared..................
