History:
The Carnival of Horrors started out as a single haunted house way back in 1990 by a teenager named Ryan Pluta, this was called The Haunted Crypt and was located at a small campground in Medina, Ohio. Over the years the event grew and grew, until The Carnival of Horrors was born. The original Carnival of Horrors opened in 1998 at The Medina County Fairgrounds and Pluta's dream was achieved. The Carnival of Horrors quickly became Northeast Ohio's #1 rated haunted attraction. Featured in virtually every newspaper and on every news and radio station for their superior reputation and ability to scare, The Carnival of Horrors rapidly built a huge fan base. However, in 2000, a problem with E.coli was reported at The Medina County Fairgrounds and The Carnival of Horrors was forced to shut down in the interest of public safety. But the event survived. In 2001, The Carnival of Horrors found its new home at Wildwood Waterpark in Columbia Station. After another successful event and thousands of satisfied customers the Carnival was preparing to continue to bring safe and terrifying fun to Northeast Ohio in 2002. However, in 2002, two juveniles illegally entered the haunted attraction in July 2002 and set it ablaze. Destroying everything that the event producers and dedicated kids of Northeast Ohio had worked on so diligently to create. BUT EVIL NEVER DIES! Then in 2003, The Carnival of Horrors returned and has proven itself to be everything it was before and much, much more. The event that haunted Northeast Ohio at The Medina County Fairgrounds from 1998 through 2000 and at Wildwood Waterpark in 2001 is back. Now at Blossom Music Center with all of the scares that made us famous, The Carnival of Horrors has created so many new scares and attractions, that you have to see it to believe it. A special thanks to all who have supported us through the years.
