- Miss Jessica described her grandfather's killings as but a glimpse into the soul of a demon...Their blood poured quickly at first, but it soon slowed to a trickle. This disappointed Jonathon Hedrick, as the bleeding was his favorite part. He would have to find more. More to kill. More to torture. More to bleed. He couldn't quite trace back to why he had killed them. And he didn't care. their faces, contorted with utter horror, glistened in the moolight. He had done the right thing. That much the voice inside was sure of. Morning. Panic. He had killed. Had he? Jonathon went to the spot he had seen repeatedly in his dreams the night before. Would he find only that which he had feared the most? NO, he did not find death, he found life. A small sapling freshly planted, sat in the middle of the field. A Shadown hung around the tree in all directions. Strange...for the sun was not yet shining...The days became weeks...then months. The sapling grew with a demonic speed, everyday reminding him of his terrible crime. Jonathan began feeling worse than ever before. Cursing voices kept him awake at night. At this point he had realized what he must do. A traveling merchant found the body crudley hung from what would one day be known as the Devil's tree. There was no motive for the suicide and murders of his family.
