- History:
- A terrifying demon, half woman half spider cursed to walk the earth one night a year, all halo’s eve. It’s the only night she gets to feed. Preying on every poor soul that falls victim to her lair. Which is an intricate maze of webs, luring unsuspecting travelers to her feeding chambers. She feeds on the souls of her victims thus leaving their shells to do her bidding. Lifeless corpses marked by the beast helping her capture more victims while she feeds. And so the question, how did it all begin?
She was cursed thousands of years ago for committing unspeakable acts.
Legend has it that on all halos eve 2000 years ago somewhere in South America. A woman washing clothes in the river was possessed by an evil spirit, shaped like a spider. Her husband was out at the farm gathering offerings for the gods that night. He came home to find his wife sitting by the fire pit rocking. When he approached her she jumped up. Bit out his throat and began devouring his body. Even the bones were licked clean.
The next day she awoke to her home covered in fresh red blood and the bones of the only man she ever loved on this earth. She ran outside and screamed. The entire village came running. She showed the chief who called for the high priest. The woman bared the mark of the spider demon on her back. The priest exclaimed an evil has fallen on the village and must be removed. He found an old book speaking of such an event. It told of the widow demon that possess a married female host and eats the husbands soul through her body. It will seek out a new host each and every night. The book spoke of a way to banish the evil and bind it from infecting any more hosts. But it came with a catch. The new bound demon gets to come out on all halos eve to feed without limits for one night. They figured they would be safe so they recited the chant. Just before they finished the last verse the creature took its form. She became a half woman, half spider a hideous grotesque creature with six spider legs. The lower half was a giant black widow spider. The upper body is the woman it possessed. They recited the last verse and the creature vanished in a poof of smoke.
The next year on all halo's eve she returned to the village and exacted her revenge. She covered the whole village in her silky green glowing web. She devoured the soles of the entire village in one night. Over the centuries she has come back to feed on that one night. Visiting new towns, villages, and cities blanketing them with her web and feeding. Will your city be next?
