About:
North Florida's LARGEST Haunted House featuring over 12,000 Feet of Fears! (+ another 3,000 outside)Terror Of Tallahassee is a haunted SCARE-house. Over 12,000 square feet of fear and frights await patrons every Halloween. We feature DEAD and ALIVE actors, illusions, and black magic. We're only open at the end of October so check out the wicked website for details.
History:
We were originally called "Mystery Playhouse" and first opened our doors in October of 1999 at 2576 North Monroe Street (see picture). It was the old Brooklyn Pasta Factory (and before that, Eastide Marios). We've been scaring audiences every Halloween since! For 2003, our building was torn down to provide parking for Goodwill, so we moved to our new location at 826 West Gaines Street. (That location used to be Nightmares in 2000, and then Bloodlines in 2002.) We teamed up with Terror On Highway 12, a haunted house operated North of Tallahassee since 1993 by Tanner Enterprises. (We're solo again since 2004, but we encourage you to see Terror On Highway 12 as well.) We completely reworked the new location, mixing the best parts of all four haunted houses into one. We continue to improve and evolve the haunt every year since, but many of our favorite illusions are from our very first haunt and continue to fascinate and entertain audiences each year. They include The Helevator, the Transformation Chamber, and the gruesome Voodoo Victim-- a living zombie that cannot die despite being slashed in half by a roaring chainsaw! Our new location is also slated for eventual demolition. (Originally, it was to expand the Gaines Street, but now it looks like it will be to build something different instead.) So this year could be our LAST. We urge you to check us out while you can. Experience a thrill and part of history at the same time. See THE TERROR OF TALLAHASSEE!
