- For 22 years Newnan, GA, just south of Atlanta, has been the place to go during Halloween to visit two of the most talked about haunted trails in the southeastern United States. Since opening in 1984, Horror Hill has attracted many thousands from states away to brave the Trails of Horror Hill and Vertigo Trails and Hayride and also to Camp at Horror Hill.
Camping at Horror Hill has fast become the most exciting Halloween tradition around!
In the beginning of Horror Hill, sets and scenes were built of black plastic, duct and electrical tape. The Trail was about 150 feet long taking about 5 minutes to walk. Our monsters donned cheap masks and cheesy costumes and simply jumped from behind trees in an attempt to scare the heck out of you. Effective? Yes. THEN... But Now, 22 years later with many years of experience behind us, large buildings, cabins, mazes, tunnels, bridges, trap doors, fog machines, Lasers, strobes, and many other effects accompany our attractions. We added Vertigo Haunted Trails and Hayride to our family in 2005. You will walk haunted trails to the top of Horror Hill and then be wisked away on a Hayride that torments you even further until you are dropped off (hopefully for you) not too far from your parking spot. Our monsters are now fully masked and/or costumed with the best the haunt industry has to offer. Each scene and set is carefully set up and choreographed with trained actors and actresses complete with music. The Trails are almost COMPLETELY transformed with new scenes and acts every year. You will be guided in different segments of the trails by one of our many unpredictable narrators. Some are scary, some are tricky, some are funny, and some are MORE SCARED THAN YOU! Along the way you will be presented with many different scenes where you may be asked (or forced) to participate! You may just be asked to START BREATHING AGAIN!!!! You will enter darkened tunnels and mazes that will make you question your sanity, as you get more lost at every turn. The ground, ceilings, walls and floors may give way at any time. Creatures will jump out at you at every chance. They will come from the ground, the trees, and even from thin air!!
