About:

A terrifying trip inside a castle nestled deeply in the woods of northern North Carolina. The Castle of Horror is in its third year of haunting unlucky victims. We encourage you to come out and see if you can hold your bladder. Small children not recommended.

History:

As a child, rather than trick or treat as normal children, this guy would build costumes and greet the other children, as they came to his house for trick or treats. (They usually got a trick, a scary one.) They would all run away before getting thier candy. Then as an adult he started designing and making his own costumes, and walking away with 1st place prizes for every Halloween competition he entered. He then decided it was time to take his dream to the next level, so that more people could enjoy the Halloween season as much as he does. In October of 1995 he took all of his costumes, designs and creations and opened that Halloween Season with one of the best Halloween "Haunted Houses" around. Although it was a barn and not a house. He had even a bigger turnout that he could have ever imagined. Reidsville's Haunted Barn was a tremendous success and year after year more and more people came to see the creations that a man with such a love for Halloween had put his heart and soul into. He was watching his lifetime dream turn into reality right before his eyes. After only four short years in the barn he had totally out grown the barn and it was a safety issue for everyone. The success had been enormous, but when it came to the safety of all the vistors, family and friends, it was time to say good bye to Reidsville's Haunted Barn. It was now time for his next adventure, a Haunted Trail. Reidsville's Haunted Trail opened the very next Halloween Season in 1999. The trail was a totally different expierence all together. The trail was also a great success for two Halloween seasons, but deep down inside a Haunted Trail was not his ultimate dream. He was destined to have his lifetime dream lived out completely. This dream was to have a Castle of Horror. Needless to say, he has began to live his lifetime dream, and he is the proud, sole owner, creator, and knight in shining armor, of his very own "Castle of Horror" ! The Castle of Horror opened for it's first Halloween season in 2001 and still continues every Halloween season. The Castle of Horror has now celebrated it's 5th year. It has only gotten better with time. Although there have been trials, for the Castle, there have been long time members move out of state, and teenagers that have been members since elementary school, join the Armed Services, killed in car crashes, the Castle will go on for years to come, with thier memories being a permanent part of the Castle. The owner and creator of the Castle is constantly preparing for the upcoming Halloween Season, well Halloween 2006 is no exception. The 2006 season will be a tougher year for the owner and creator, due to the damage the Castle of Horror suffered when five teenagers with nothing better to do, broke in and destroyed the Castle of Horror. There was extensive damage done to a lot of props, costumes, and consrtuction of the Castle. Unfortunately the time it takes to make the repairs is time needed for preperation for the 2006 Season. Although he has a lot more work to do for this upcoming 2006 Season, with his family and friends, he is impatiently awaiting for October 2006 !
