- About:
- Four Attractions In One – New Hampshire’s Largest Halloween park!
Haunted Acres is set in an 1860's Western ghost town. It features the Skeleton Saloon & Hotel, the Dark Maze, the 3D Nuclear Accident House, and the Quarter Mile Nightmare Walk … a walk through the woods that is not for the faint of heart. Our ghost town includes coffins, a cemetery, a jail, mine shafts, a spider web forest, a bonfire, a witches' village, a hillbilly hell, and our famous “slayer” creature, with a 20 ft. wingspan! You can expect to see ghosts, ghouls and goblins. Best of all, expect the unexpected!
The Skeleton Saloon House
A Western house of the dead … or wishing they were dead. Some of the features include the barrel storage, the dead man's jail, the endless mine shaft, and the evil relaxing in bloody bath tubs. The Skeleton Saloon House is open regardless of weather.
The 3-D Nuclear Accident House
A nuclear accident has turned this once happy fun house into a house of horror. Take the elevator to frightening rooms filled with mazes, ice caves, spinning floors, a tunnel of ghosts, and the execution chamber … where you could be next. The 3-D house will make your head spin. The 3-D Nuclear Accident House is open regardless of weather.
The 1/4 Mile Nightmare Walk
Take a stroll over the bridge and through the woods … to grandmother’s house you will not be going! The evil that lurks has made the woods extremely dark and dense, with creatures ranging from gorillas to deadly scarecrows. Look out for bats, vampires, wolves, and evil demons that roam the trail. This walk is 1/4 mile long and will take at least 20 minutes of time to experience. For the tired and scared, there are shortcuts to be found. Good walking shoes required. The Nightmare Walk is open except during extremely inclement weather.
The Maze from Hell
An 1800 square foot maze of long dark corridors with many dead ends. Watch out for the demons within. The Maze from Hell is open except during extremely inclement weather.
- History:
- Haunted Acres started out as a haunted house at Pine Acres Campground in the mid-1980's. It was set up by seasonal campers and operated only one night per season. As word of the quality of the attraction circulated among local townspeople, they began to line up for the one night show. Soon Haunted Acres expanded with a mile long guided nightmare walk and hayride. Through the early 90's, Haunted Acres continued to be one of New Hampshire's favorite haunts. In 1994, the property upon which the attraction was located was sold; however, in 1997, the campers and staff of Pine Acres reopened Haunted Acres as a haunted house, hayride, and nightmare walk, now evolving into one of New England's favorite haunts. By 2005, Haunted Acres needed a bigger and better location with room for expansion. A group of employees bought Haunted Acres and moved the attraction to a remote field and densely wooded area at the back of New England Dragway. As you drive the long road into Haunted Acres, you are literally taken back in time to the 1860's. In this new setting, Haunted Acres has room to grow and to continually improve from season to season. Join us for the fright of your life!
