A family-run haunted attraction appropriate for all ages. Treats given for kits and tricks for everyone. Patrons requested to bring one can of non-perishable food per person for optional donation to Capital Area Food Bank.

History:

Almost four centuries ago, there lived (if such a word can be used) the Duke Ludwig von Horton, lord over a vast dominion in what is now in the eastern part of Europe. For almost 130 years, in times of war, he offered the protection of his castle to the local peasantry, and once a year he would invite them to his domain to offer them bits of food and wine having the most peculiar shade of red.... Over time, the population continued to shrink, and the denizens of this region dismissed the idea that lifeless bodies they encountered in the early mornings were the result of anything else but the diseases of the day.... In the earlier part of the XXth century was born in the Island of Galveston, off the coast of Texas a boy with satanic red hair. The ("Red") Baron von Horton celebrated his birthday, the thirtieth of October, by inviting the neighborhood kids over for what they thought were Halloween games. Served cats' eyes and brains, they would leave the house screaming, but the Baron had something greater in store for humanity.... His task was made easier when he met the diabolical Duchess Patricia von Adelman.... Two days following the arrival of the first man on the moon, Count Marcula von Horton was born in Miami in the eeriest of circumstances, under an ominous sign, the very essence of evil. The Count endured severe hardship, with daily beatings from his older brother who was jealous that he had not inherited the Count's special powers of evil, but Count Marcula persevered. He eventually met his alter ego through the incarnation of La Condesa Laura de Fantasma de Gomez a Laredo Satánica. On their wedding day, before a group of friends and family, they vowed they would punish the world by terrifying it to the point that everyone would be on his or her knees begging for a quick death. A few years ago they realized they were on the way. Austin is not sleeping very well these days. There are strange sounds emanating from a certain house on Klattenhoff called Hortons Hear a Boo. The Red Baron von Horton has been seen lurking on the grounds. Rumor has it that the Duchess von Adelman may be there, too. Don't come alone. Don't plan on leaving this house anytime soon, either....
