Worst Movie Title Ever?

Here’s my vote the worst movie title (horror or otherwise) that I’ve ever heard: Midnight Meat Train. I was in a theater a couple of weeks ago and saw the trailer, and the movie looks pretty decent actually. They don’t say the name of the film until the dunh, dunh, dunh voiceover at the end. I laughed out loud. So did most of the other people in the theater.

I know now (having Googled it) that it’s based on a short story of the same name by Clive Barker. Even on paper that’s one stinkeroo of a title, if you ask me. I just visited the website and am reminded that Brooke Shields of all people appears to have a role. That’s just strange, too, but not as strange as somebody at Lionsgate greenlighting that title. Midnight Meat Train? Sounds like a Saturday Night Live spoof.

It’s scheduled to release on May 16, so I guess we’ll find out if the movie is as lame as the title.
