Tattoo MIshap Gives Girl a New Face Scarred With Stars

An 18-year-old Belgian girl in Courtrai has filed suit with a local tattoo artist for the “graffiti that has ruined her life.” According to her version of the story, she asked for three small stars to be tattooed beneath her left eye, but instead, she left the tattoo parlor with 56 tattoos covering the entire left side of her face.

“It is terrible for me,” Kimberly said. “I cannot go out on to the street, I am so embarrassed. I just look horrible. I think he didn’t understand what I wanted. He spoke only fractured English and French,” she told MailOnline. She claims to have fallen asleep while the procedure was done, which is why she did not notice it until it had been finished.

But according to the tattoo artist’s version of the story, Rouslan Toumaniantz, Kimberley Vlaminck ’absolutely’wanted 56 stars tattooed on the left side of her face: “I maintain that she absolutely agreed that I tattoo those 56 stars on the left side of her face,” he told newspaper La Derniere Heure. And, according to Rouslan, Kimberly left the parlor happy.

But my question for Kimberly is: how can you fail to notice what is happening to your face while being tattooed? Getting tattooed is not a painless or quick process. So failing to notice where the tattoo artists is poking about on your face while he works over a long period of time seems highly unlikely, at least it does to me.

I think I would have screamed “Stop” as soon as I felt a needle prick move away from beneath my eye.
